Arts Afire Studio Pottery and Gallery features the artwork of Kim Hancock. It is also the home of www.coombscottage.com. This idyllic location is set of 5 wooded acres and is centrally located to Parksville and Qualicum Beaches only 1km from Coombs Old Country Market. Kim's Gallery boasts a diverse and colourful functional pottery selection as well as intimately sculpted torsos and acrylic paintings can be viewed just by visiting her exciting yet quaint gallery.

After a B.F.A. in Printmaking ,a Master's Program in Painting in Sculpture, and world wide travel ,Kim returned to Canada and began making functional pottery using layers of colour and watercolour techniques on her platters. Garden botanicals are made from pressing leaves and flowers from Kim's garden and forest and then burning out the plant material in the bisque firing. Each leaf and flower is then hand painted with stains and glazes and finished off with 3 coats of clear glaze making them food, microwave and dishawasher safe. These funtional wall platters can be specially ordered to compliment any decor!
