Regional Trails System

Recreational walking tops the list of outdoor activities for many people in the RDN. Part of the planning for Regional Parks includes a system of trails to link regional, municipal and provincial parks.

In the northern part of the RDN, a program to secure and develop public trails is well underway. This program envisions a three-loop main trail corridor connecting rural and residential areas with provincial parks, other park and protected areas, and the urban centres of Parksville and Qualicum Beach.
