Welcome to "Discovery Marine Safaris", your premier whale watching and Grizzly bear viewing experience in Campbell River. Come and join us on one of our Marine Tours along the Discovery and Inide Passages. You will travel along stunning shorelines and inlets in search of pods of orcas (killer whales) and other wildlife such as beach foraging black bears, pacific white-sided dolphins, Dall's porpoises, seal and soaring bald eagles. In September we'll be starting our very popular Grizzly Bear Expeditions. This 6-7 hour trip gives you the chance to see Grizzlies in their natural habitat far away from human civilization. You will also have the opportunity to learn about some traditions and heritage of the local natives. Our comfortable, brand new 12 and 30 passenger, high speed, aluminum tour boats feature an enclosed & heated cabin, two outdoor viewing decks and an onboard washroom. We look forward to welcome you onboard!

Our high speed vessels are spacious, safe and Transport Canada inspected and approved. You’ll be able to easily take photos of orcas, marine life, and wildlife while walking around the boat. The enclosed cabin (which is heated) keeps you out of wind and ensures a comfortable experience. And yes, we certainly have a washroom on board! It’s all about comfort and safety!!!
Killer whales are one of the most exciting whales to watch. You can enjoy them close up feeding, breaching, hunting, beach rubbing or playing with each other. Listen to the magical song of the killer whales with our onboard hydrophone. Their high-pitched squeals, squawks and screams will give you goose bumps!!
The Grizzly Expedition starts with a 1.5 hour (approximately) boat ride to the main land – our Grizzly bear destination. On arrival, we disembark to a warm welcome by a First Nation guide. You are transported by minibus to the various viewing platforms where you will observe amazing Grizzly bears foraging, and fishing for salmon in the rivers and streams. This area has the perfect conditions for the bears to hunt for food as they prepare for hibernation.
We conveniently depart right from down town Campbell River. Our boat tour goes along well protected inside channels and passages; the reason why our guests don’t have to worry about getting seasick.
