We offer practical and affordable introductory training in every aspect of analog photography\, while our intermediate and advanced workshops offer a great way to acquire new creative skills\, get updated on contemporary practices\, or gain valuable artistic insights on developing work.\n\nBecause our instructional formats allow for smaller groups\, heightened attention is always paid to your projects and academic goals\, ensuring clear focus and steady artistic growth. \nEnvironmental Portrait using Mixed Lighting (Upcoming\, March 2012\n\nONE-ON-ONE INSTRUCTION sessions also available. \n\nVNB represents the collaboration of photographers Virginie Lamarche and Bastien Desfriches Doria. After its initial Chicago launching\, VNB is now operating in Vancouver\, BC. Virginie and Bastien met in France – their home country – before jointly coming to the US to complete their MFAs in photography. As a couple they have been interacting for many years while working on their various respective fine art projects\, first in school and later as academics. These common experiences allowed for the progressive building of a fluid aesthetic and photographic culture between them.\n\nVirginie holds a Master (MST) in Photography and Multimedia from the University of Paris VIII\, France and a MFA in Photography from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Her work has been exhibited in North America\, Europe and Asia and has received various awards such as the KL Photo Awards 11′\, Photo Espana Descubrimientos 09 and Flash Forward 08. Virginie has taught both traditional and digital photography classes as a lecturer at the University of Dayton\, Ohio from 2006 to 2009. Shortly after\, she created VNB Photo with Bastien.\n\nBastien received a BA and a MFA degree in Photography from Southern Illinois University Carbondale\, as well as two other university degrees from France in Information and Communication Sciences and Philosophy. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and has won awards such as the London International Creative Competition 2010 and the Kuala Lumpur Photo Awards 2010. From 2006 to 2011\, Bastien worked as an Assistant Professor of photography and digital imaging at Governors State University in Chicago' south side.
