HIKE-BIKE-RIDE Our ranch is perfectly situated for all of this as we back onto hundreds of acres of forest with trails and old logging roads to explore. We have a chalet style cottage and six drive through R.V. sites for your comfort. The best part is you don't have to leave the island! We are just 20 minutes south of Nanaimo and just over an hour drive from Victoria . Of course we welcome our friends from the mainland, as we are just a short drive from either the Departure Bay or Duke Point ferry terminals.
We are very proud of our horses at Takala Trails Ranch. We have been breeding and training our own horses since 1992 using the principles of Natural Horsemanship, first introduced to us by Pat Parelli. Our foundation stock consisted of a sport horse stallion, we produced from our Appendix Quarterhorse mare bred to Amiro, a Dutchwarmblood stallion from Victoria.
