Hospitality Show Success & Conference Topics

GoBC continues to be a leader in the tourism market place for British Columbia. It was obvious by "stunned looks" that the unlimited services offered, plus the additional exposure for all GoBC participants on www.canada-travel.ca make it difficult for businesses to dispute its value. To review the many "inclusive" services offered in an annual listing visit www.gobc.ca/advertise and be sure your business is taking full advantage of all of them! If you missed out on attending some of the conferences, there were several topics covered which GoBC also views as extremely valuable during this current economic state. Here are our GoBC highlights:
  • 4 Walls / 4 Artists - is our twist on how to up-date & redecorate your hotel or B&B with art work for sale by your local artists. By displaying their work for sale your business has a fantastic, always refreshed look full of artwork that make incredible souvenirs for your guests. It is a win-win for both, you and the artists in your area.

You can find hundreds of local artists around the province in all regions on GoBC. These individuals make their work, their studios and galleries a large part of tourist attractions for visitors. We would like to suggest that you consider buying or consigning their work for "sale" displayed in your rooms when re-decorating is being planned and for your gift shops. For more information or ideas contact the individual artists directly.
  • Web Presence - is an ever growing topic and one we relate to closely. Our GoBC site operates under the perfected, highly optimized, client controlled system "SMS". Direct links, key content, avoiding flash, no third party advertising and excellent accessibility for our participants to make changes and updates, plus search engine optimization are just some ways you can be sure you are getting the most out of your listing on GoBC.
  • Leisure Travelers - though the US is travel market has been declining, GoBC has been actively pursuing the European market as part of the company's sustainable tourism mandate set out when GoBC was founded 2003. All of our business listings are translated into German, the second most spoken language (after Russian) in Europe. 150 million people speak (or understand) German in several countries including Austria, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, and the Tchech Republic. We market directly to the German speaking market on our German website www.urlaub-reisen.gobc.ca where you are automatically included with your GoBC listing.
