Marcela was born in Argentina and moved to Canada in 1994. She started painting in 2001 and since then she has attended many different watercolour and acrylic workshops and courses in Victoria with several well-known local artists. She has also been an important part in the organization of several local events, like the West Shore Studio Tour.
Marcela enjoys painting mostly landscapes, still-lifes and florals. She is greatly inspired by her love of gardening as well as nature, sea scenes, reflections, boats and marinas found around the Gulf Islands. “There are scenes to be painted everywhere I look”.
She has participated in several local juried and non-juried art exhibitions including “2005 Sooke Fine Arts Show” and “2005 Sydney Fine Arts Show”. She is currently an active member of Windsor Park Art Club, Juan de Fuca Arts and Crafts Guild (Coordinator for the Painter’s Group), West Shore Arts Council, Community Arts Council of the Saanich Peninsula and the Federation of Canadian Artists.
Her pieces can be found in private collections through out Canada, United States and South America.
She lives in Highlands in Victoria BC with her husband and 2 children.
