Mary is teaching visitors how to quill at Father Pandosy Mission in Kelowna. She is wearing one of her own quilled creations. This hat and 12 others were in a solo show in Black Berry Art Gallery in Port Moody.
Take note of the small quilled Penquin friend on her lapel.
Mary builds Historic and novel pieces, from small pieces of paper shaped and glued together. This is the Old Church (now Museum) in Peachland. (Well worth the visit.) She built this for their centennial.
Mary has been commissioned to build entire farms, History of towns and travel.
2 Dimensional quilling is also very effective and Mary enjoys drawing and designing her one of a kind pieces.
This "Passionate Peacock" hangs proudly.
Most enjoyable for Mary is creating Eagles. She created a headdress, Eagle Fire Helmet; Story of Eagles in a series from Mating to fighting for Cairn. (This is one piece)
Nature is by far her most enjoyable portrayal of quilling. Flowing leaves and bird on wing, flowers blooming in a garden. This is what her pleasure is.
This picture speaks for itself. Now more than ever we all seek peace. In our own spirit and that of the universe.
Doves of peace circle man with outstretched arms. Yes it forms a cross, but it is man at prayer.
Unframed Pictures are always available.
