Join us for The Salt Spring National Art Prize Exhibition of Canadian Visual Art live at historic Mahon Hall, Salt Spring Island, BC, September 25 - October 25, 2021!

Viewers across Canada will also have the opportunity to view finalists' artworks on our website, revealed to the public, on September 24, 6pm. In addition, in-person and online visitors will have the opportunity to vote in the BMO People's Choice Awards and to purchase the finalists' artwork!

A national jury of four selected 52 finalists based on 2756 artworks submitted by Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada. The names of the artists were anonymous to the jurors.

Finalists may be selected to win one of ten awards totalling $41,000—six selected by jurors and four selected by public vote.

We invite you to VOTE in the BMO People's Choice Awards!

This year, for the first time, the voting for the BMO People's Choice Awards goes national.
This category of awards provides an opportunity for us all to be members of the SSNAP Jury!

During the exhibition, people over the age of 18 will have the opportunity to cast one vote for their favourite of the 52 artworks exhibited, online or in-person, with awards totalling $6,000. We are also pleased to add the opportunity for youth under the age of 18 to vote in person at the exhibition. The BMO Youth People's Choice Award is $1,000.

Voting for the BMO People’s Choice Awards will open on Friday, September 24 at 6pm.
Voting ends at 5pm, Friday, October 22, 2021.

In early 2022, the winning artworks will travel to Victoria, BC, for an exhibition at the Victoria Arts Council Gallery and thereafter to Vancouver for an exhibition at The Pendulum Gallery.

Associated with the SSNAP exhibition, The Parallel Art Show (PAS) was developed to showcase the amazing talent of some of the Southern Gulf Islands' artists during the SSNAP Finalist event.

The PAS jurors selected 51 artworks from the 143 Southern Gulf Island artists who submitted to SSNAP.
All finalists' artworks for both The Salt Spring National Art Prize and The Parallel Art Show will be available for sale online or in-person at the respective galleries.

The SSNAP and PAS award winners will be announced at the SSNAP Gala Awards Night, Saturday, October 23, 2021.
