British Columbia Travel Guide
The unofficial BC Travel & Tourism Guide
Enjoy the world-famous Fanny Bay Oysters, a specialty in fine restaurants world wide! The small hamlet situated on Baynes Sound on Vancouver Island looks out to the secluded Denman Island. Visitors can make the journey across the narrow passage by the Buckley Bay Ferry Terminal, only four kilometers north of Fanny Bay.

Dive, dine, drive, ferry, fly or simply sightsee on your own! Criss-crossing Vancouver Island will eventually lead visitors right passed the Brisco vessel landmark lining the shores of Fanny Bay and a towering pile of what else? - Oyster shells. Bring a bucket and try for yourself. Please, however check tidal change notices in the local news.

The nearby Rosewall Creek Provincial Park protects the seasonal salmon runs and is home to Coastal western hemlock forest and big leaf maple trees. The walk is certainly worth the trip! Wildlife surrounding Fanny Bay includes seals, porpoises, salmon, eagles, deer, and various shellfish and small ocean critters.
