Jasper

Jasper National Park is set amongst some of the most beautiful mountain scenery in the world, in the largest of the Rocky Mountain National Parks. The area is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The wide forest covered valleys are dotted with brilliant blue lakes and clear glacial streams. The rocky cliffs for which the mountains are famous tower above the valleys like great castles in the sky. The protection given as a National Park assures habitat for a great variety of life, including bear, cougar, caribou, big horn sheep, mountain goat, moose, and wolf.

Visitors from all over the world travelling the extraordinarily scenic highways often see wildlife from their cars, but those wishing to explore further, can access a superb trail system. Travelling the Icefields Parkway along the Great Divide, tourists can visit the Bow and Crowfoot Glaciers, Athabasca Falls, and the famous Columbia Icefields, which are approximately 325 km square kilometers in area and up to 365 meters in depth. There are approximately 1700 campsites available in the park.
