Connect your Business to the Arts – and Why !

Tourists who seek out Arts and Cultural travel experiences have turned arts and cultural tourism into the fastest growing tourism sector.
In response to this trend, hotel chains, small hotels, and bed and breakfasts connect with groups and independent artists to evoke inspiring displays and make artwork available to customers. This relationship generates a warm and inviting environment for guests along with the potential for extra revenue. It's a win-win for everyone!

Sooke Harbour House on Vancouver Island is a great example. This boutique hotel displays local art throughout the hotel. Guests regularly purchase artwork which they saw displayed in their guest room, hallways, foyers, reception and dining areas, as memorable gifts from their vacation.

Consider using artwork to draw attention to your business and to create a relaxed and original atmosphere.

How do you spread the word that you are looking for artwork? GoBC can help you find artists in your area. We feature almost 1000 BC artists and art organizations and we can even post your request online in our “call for artists”. Visit GoBC for contact information on artists located in your area. You may be surprised to see many incredible artists are living right around the corner and to find out how receptive people are.

GoBC on CBC – BC Almanac

We are proud to announce that GoBC Arts and Cultural Tourism Inc. was nominated as a change maker for CBC's BC Almanac’s Imagine BC program in March 2009. We were thrilled to be the winner in this category. GoBC was repeatedly announced, and we had a live interview on the program. Judging by comments we received from listeners, GoBC is well-recognized and valued by people in the province. Thank you, CBC, for your visionary campaign and encouraging support to create positive change in BC, and also to all those wonderful nominees who each make a difference in BC communities.

And most of all, many thanks to all of you for being part GoBC. Your participation helps make BC one of the number one tourism destinations in the world, in a sustainable, artistic way.
