The Iris Griffith Field Studies and Interpretive Centre is the home of the Ruby Lake Lagoon Nature Reserve Society. Our non-profit charitable society is committed to nature and environmental education, restoration of the Ruby Lake Lagoon wetland and has established the Denise Cargill Wildlife Sanctuary.
The Iris Griffith Centre has been constructed using environmentaly friendly technology, including solar collectors. Visitors can get a birds eye view of the area by viewing the topigraphical map on display at the centre. Nature School and Green Building Workshops are just a few of our activities. Displays show alternative house building technology, environmental conservation and natural history. Local species are highlighted in aquariums. Visitors may view our displays FREE of charge. Come in and take a closer look at nature.
