The Art of painting is my life long passion. Even as a child, in France, the land of my birth, I was fascinated by the paintings of the Great Masters and by the incredible cave paintings my parents took me to see. I also grew up surrounded by art work done by family members and I often sat quietly, copying these with my crayons. It seemed like magic to me
So began my study and love of the Arts. I chose Nursing as a carreer however because I also enjoyed the sciences and was drawn to the medical field. I do not regret it but circumstances have put my Nursing carreer on hold. Nursing is a physically risky business and injuries are common.
Because of this, I have recently been able to devote more time and energy to my Art.
I have also been very fortunate to meet new friends and mentors and am learning from some of the best... (Thank you David, Ron, Keith and Ken, you are true Masters and so generous with your encouragement, time, knowledge and wisdom...)
I love to paint with luscious oils, and versatile acrylics, and love to draw with charcoal, conte crayons and pastels. I carry a sketchbook and small watercolour box wherever I go. I paint "en plein air" as often as I can, either alone or with the friends and mentors I mentionned earlier. Painting alongside these gentlemen is always a very rich and fun experience. Victoria and its surroundings provide us with breathtaking scenery year round.
In the past few years, I have added writing to my chosen art forms and I am presently working on a novel, rather slowly these days I must say.
I find that my artwork is great therapy and see my moods reflected in my palette and choice of subject. I believe that things happen for a reason and that when a door closes, a window opens...
I wish to begin accepting commissions for landscape and still life oil paintings.
For my commissionned still lives, I propose to tell your own story or your family's stories by painting your heirlooms and other beloved objects of your choice. The possibilities are endless and the choices are yours.
Art is something I must create and share with others. I do hope that you will enjoy my vision of our world.
Images of my work will soon appear on this page.
I thank you for visiting, please come again!
