Newsletter January 2011

Thursday Jan 20, 2011

Happy New Year!

According to the Chinese zodiac calendar, we are ending the year of the tiger, a year of transitions and adjustments. February 3rd, 2011 marks the beginning of the year of the rabbit, a symbol of endurance. The year of the Rabbit is traditionally associated with home and family, artistic pursuits, diplomacy, and keeping the peace.

We at GoBC are determined to keep working towards an enduring and sustainable tourism industry in BC. We appreciate your participation and look forward to partnering with you throughout 2011 and beyond.

We'd like to start out with a reminder to make the most of your GoBC listing by taking advantage of our newly added promotional opportunities, namely your Specials, Getaways and Events on the GoBC home page and on social media. Also, a note on why and how to stay in touch with your long-distance visitors.

Promoting your Specials, Getaways and Events
GoBC now promotes your specials, deals and getaways with Facebook, Twitter and on the home page at www.gobc.ca.

Attracting Repeat Visitors from Abroad
Research shows that people who visited Canada before are three times more interested in another trip to Canada than people who have not yet experienced Canadian hospitality.

We have moved!
Effective January 24th you can reach us at our new address.

Once again, best wishes for 2011 to you, your family and your staff! As always, we look forward to hearing from you.

Attracting Repeat Visitors from Abroad
Research shows that people who visited Canada before are three times more interested in another trip to Canada than people who have not yet experienced Canadian hospitality. In other words, it's worth keeping your visitors from abroad on your mailing list, even if it’s been some years since their visit.  Why not not send your guests a personalized New Years greeting with an attractive GoBC postcard?  To view the current GoBC picture postcards and order cards at no cost, just visit your member area.
