My work is about moments in time, observations of the fleeting, of the ephemeral shifts in nature,say, a gestural mark of a branch in mist or a fissure in the shifting earth.
Alongside, the work comprises an eclectic mix of random adding and subtracting: controlling the medium yet allowing the accidental. Through layering, and then partially covering, painting surfaces are multi-layered. This process-orientated method of constant re-defining allows a subject’s essence to reveal itself in its own time.
