Cormier's Studio, Kena Cumming Cormier

A colourful, light hearted and whimsical approach is what Kena wishes to express in her mixed media, out of the box, "wallart".

Generally she explores her art in a series of paintings. Her current study is entitled Vessels & Flowers.

This series involves the use of texture, the interaction of shapes and the addition of metal flowers which take her artwork outside the canvas, often creating a 3 dimensionality to her work.

The vessel could be anything, a simple shape, a purse, a shoe, a boot, a mouth, a wineglass, a fishbowl, the list goes on. The metal is mild steel which is plasma cut, welded, bent & then torched to add a patina to it.

Kena shares the metal shop with her husband, Lawrence Cormier, a sculptor. If no one is home when you come by to visit, please feel free to stroll the sculpture garden.
