British Columbia Travel Guide
The unofficial BC Travel & Tourism Guide
Sonora Island belongs to a chain of “Outer Islands” which surround the popular “Discovery Islands” off the shores of British Columbia (between Vancouver’s mainland and Vancouver Island. Sorona offers paved road access by Ferry service, lodges, camping, wilderness trails, hiking or climbing the surrounding hills, sea kayaking or big adventure charters or eco tours. These winding passageways around the islands that dotted around Sonora are picturesque beyond words. Think of dozens islands and protruding from clear blue waters as lush green hills with rugged shore lines filled by endless exploration possibilities. The area could easily beat the tropics (if only it were so hot!).

Since there are so many little islands (as part of the Outer Islands) the most significant ones are Read, Maurelle, Sonora, Stuart, East & West Redonda, East & West Thurlow and the Rendezvous Island.
