Nicole is an artist in Vancouver teaching weekly group art classes. Using a classical approach to teach realism in drawing and painting, and focusing on techniques and styles practiced by the Old Masters, learn to draw, paint, and expand your artistic ability – whether you are just starting out or building on long-term experience.
With an in-depth knowledge of drawing and painting, acquired through 8 years of studying at a private art studio and supplemented by a career in the fine art industry, Nicole blends her understanding of classical realism with a desire to provide a supportive and inspiring learning environment.
Drawing is the foundation of many other art forms, and Nicole always encourages you to have a solid ability to draw before moving into different media, such as painting. Whether you have been drawing for years or are just starting out, you will start with basic skills and progress from there, studying still-life setups and works by other artists. The usual progression of skills start with line drawing, then tones and shading, and then learning a different medium such as oil paint. Mediums taught include pencil, charcoal, conte, ink, and oil paint.
