Heidi Roemer

Clay has been my medium of choice for most of my life. It connects me to the earth.

Sculpture sizes vary from 25cm to 50 cm.

The sculptures which take shape under my hands are placed in the garden close to the earth, up on a rock or tree stump. They represent children and whimsical elemental beings like gnomes, fairies and mermaids.

The fired clay blends with the natural surroundings and looks best when slightly weathered.
