Robin de Lavis, Hornby Island

To make these mandalas, I scan my paintings and photobased work into the computer. I then begin to work them into the final image using software programs like Photoshop, Illustrator and Painter. The computer has become yet another tool an artist can use to express visual language.

Living on Hornby Island, it can be hard to avoid the landscape. I tend to abstract it rather than paint it representationally.
