History:
The legends and lives of the Coast Salish First Nations band of Sliammon preoccupied the lands along the shores of today’s Powell River for centuries. The Sunshine Coast provided the materials and year round food sources that made for the perfect habitat to grow and develop their families and cultural arts of craving and fishing. Today, visitors who travel to Powell River can arrange to take tours of the local salmon hatchery and the narrated tours of the Salish Culture.
