Community Club for Lighthouse Country serving the Deep Bay, Bowser, Horne Lake and Qualicum Bay.

General information: BowHorneBay Community Club  "there's always room for one more in our field" The BowHorneBay Community Club encompasses the communities of Lighthouse County - Bowser, Horne Lake, Qualicum Bay and Deep Bay - and has been going strong since 1970. The Club encourages family involvement and community spirit through hosting community events which in turn help to promote our area's local organizations and businesses. A percentage of the funds raised through these events is donated to improvements to the Lighthouse Community Center. We encourage emergency preparedness within the community by promoting and contributing to the Emergency Social Services.  This year marks the 37th Lighthouse Country Fall Fair. Saturday, September 1, 2006 (Labour Day Weekend) at the Lighthouse Community Centre 240 Lions Way, in Qualicum Bay. Just off the old island hwy, 10 minutes north of Qualicum Beach Along with all the exhibits in the main hall, the Fair will have lots of entertainment, races and games of skill, food concessions and exhibits with something for everyone to enjoy. BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND... The CRK9FX dog team will be demonstrating the dog sports of Flyball and Agility. Watch as these amazing dogs display the speed and teamwork required to succeed in these fast paced sports. Part of the demonstrations will be choosing speedy spectators to join in and race against their favourite 4 legged atheletes. Let your favourite furry friends strut their stuff in our pet parade. Prizes for the best dressed, most like owner, longest tail, lots of races and more. Dressup your bicycle for the bicycle parade and win some great prizes Stroll the Fall Fair Open Market for local arts, crafts and produce. Watch the local artisans demonstrate their arts and crafts in the Lions Hall Pick up your exhibit guide at local lighthouse businesses to enter your fair exhibits. Over two hundred categories for adult entries. Childrens exhibits are separated into age categories with everything from needle work to vegetable art. Exhibits accepted the day before the fair. Come and enjoy a full day of family fun. Our Outdoor stage will host some great local entertainment. The Children's games will have a farmer theme this year. So, bring the whole family for a day filled with great local entertainment and vendors and "Celebrate our Home Grown bounty" at the 37th Annual Lighthouse Country Fall Fair.  ====================================== The BowHorneBay Community Club is involved in a number of other community events. ============================= Mother's Day - Basket Planting Day Bring last years baskets, containers, tubs and planters and let us freshen them up with..... - Great quality potting soil,donated by Lighthouse Feed and Garden - Selection of sun and shade locally grown nursery plants - excellent pricing. We will also have a selection of premade flower baskets for sale. Stroll the outdoor gardening vendors and indoor flea market. Treat mom to a pancake breakfast in the hall. Get ready for summer with our fabulous baskets. See you there! ============================ Our 2005 Garden Tour was a big hit and will be a biannual event.
