General information: Great Northern Snowcat Skiing

Nestled deep in the heart of the Selkirk Mountains of British Columbia, Canada is Great Northern Snow-Cat Skiing. Established in 1979, Great Northern has more than 28 years experience providing quality deep powder skiing and exciting mountain adventure vacations.

The Selkirk Mountain Range, just west of the legendary Bugaboos, is world renowned for helicopter and snowcat skiing. Endless miles of open bowls and steep and deep trees combined with an average 1500cm (600 inches) of snowfall per year, gives Great Northern access to some of the finest powder skiing anywhere.

These quiet (no ear protection necessary) and powerful snowcats, skiers have the comfort of knowing that they will be able to ski all day everyday, even when it is stormy. The fully enclosed snowcat cabin is spacious and warm. The clean, smooth snowcat rides of 15-20 minutes give you time to relax, clean off your goggles, warm up between runs and share the day's experience with new friends.

Our season runs from mid-December to mid-April with an average snowfall of 1500 cm (600 inches) annually. Our skiing takes place in the Badshot Range of the Selkirk Mountains.
