Victoria Operatic Society (VOS), Tammy Simon

The Victoria Operatic Society (VOS) is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization established in 1945 for the purpose of bringing top-quality live musical theatre to Victoria and giving aspiring young singers and performers the opportunity to display their talents.

Over the years, VOS has produced Broadway Musicals, Light Operas and Gilbert & Sullivan productions, using and promoting local talent on and off the stage. VOS strives for professional quality productions, while offering affordable family prices.

During the early years VOS productions were presented at the Royal Theatre. However, in the spring of 1965 VOS began a new phase of its history by producing The Merry Widow at the newly renovated McPherson Playhouse.

In all the years at the "Mac" VOS has staged over 70 musicals, from classic favourites to hot off-Broadway productions. Varied performances in this venue have been enjoyed by many generations of theatre-goers.
