Linda uses vibrant colour schemes in her collages to imitate nature. Her work is intricate and intriguing, often using elements from nature; pressed flowers, seashells, stones and many treasures from nature. Linda will do commissioned work.
Metal clay is made with powdered silver, bronze, or copper mixed with an organic binder and water to make a soft clay used to form jewelry, beads and sculptures. Once dried it is processed in a kiln to burn away the binder leaving the pure sintered metal.
Victoria artist Natalie Shumka has shown work throughout Vancouver Island and the lower mainland. Glass jars, pitchers and vases capture her interest, as well as the occasional onion . Always happy to have visitors, contact her for a studio visit.
