Metal clay is made with powdered silver, bronze, or copper mixed with an organic binder and water to make a soft clay used to form jewelry, beads and sculptures. Once dried it is processed in a kiln to burn away the binder leaving the pure sintered metal.
Thrilled and challenged by the beauty of Vancouver Island, Gretchen works mainly on-site to paint vibrant landscapes in oils and oil pastel. She also creates more contemplative and abstract pieces in mixed media.
